Countries from which we source jackfruit

Thailand

This is our longest established contact who can produce conventional jackfruit in frozen (IQF) format.

India

We work with one of the oldest organic certified companies from India that has established itself as a larger organic spice exporter since 2002. Nowadays the director is one of the vervent jackfruit promoters in India. They source the jackfruit from their organic farm groups based in the Western Ghats in Karnataka. They have invested heavily in the grafting and planting of gumless and superior jackfruit saplings already back in 2015 and have worked on forest conservation by planting over 400 native trees and shrubs species in a gene-sanctuary and sacred grove near Hosagunda. They have HACCP and BRC for food safety, Naturland and Fairforlife certification and a SEDEX registration. They have about 400 organic jackfruit farmers connected to their company.

Sri Lanka

In Sri Lanka we work with a smaller organic company that is specialized on vegan products with jackfruit as its core product. Its owner is a strong innovator who has invested and experimented to get the quality of the texture, colour and mouthfeel exactly right. The director worked in organic agriculture and has strong connections with farmers and decided to start his own company in 2015. One of his latest innovations besides jackfruit is to use banana blossom as a fish-alternative for tuna steaks. They have EUorganic, Naturland, FairTSA, BRC food safety and soon Fairtrade certification in place. They work with just over 100 organic farmers over the last 15 years.
